Earth Day is April 22, and we've seen a lot of good posts about earthy local events. Kat in 98072 has one about river restoration in Woodinville.
Dee in 76541 knows where you can find bluebonnets near Killeen, Texas, and she brought her camera:

There's also tree planting in Redwood City, bike info in Sumner, and a zero-carbon footprint farmer's Market in Richmond.
There's still time to post whatever Earth Day events are happening in your neighborhood, if you haven't already. Of course, any time your neighbors are getting together to accomplish a goal, that's blog-worthy -- it doesn't have to fall on April 22!

You don't need to spend hours on each MyZip neighborhood post. If you are, something is amiss.
A short, succinct post about your neighborhood works just as well as a long, detailed post. Make it easy on your readers and include the necessary information in a short and sweet manner.
An image, 3 or 4 sentences and a link are all you really need!
Here are a few examples of how other neighbohood bloggers have kept their posts short, sweet and (most importantly) informative!
The following are all completed, published posts.

Old QFC (The Big Hole) Gets a Crane Thursday, April 10, 2008

Our friends at MyBallard.com took some more pictures of the crazy huge hole where our beloved old QFC was located. I recently posted some pictures of that huge hole and now it's getting a 240 foot crane! MyBallard pointed out that the condos across the street which look so huge compared to everything else on the street are only 65 feet tall. It really hits home when you realize that Ballard used to consist mainly of one or two story buildings.

Neighborhood History Thursday, April 10, 2008
I've walked past it's artistic iron gates many times and wondered... what is History House?
After doing a brief search online I found the website for History House in Fremont. They have "exhibits [which] feature pictorial histories of the Wallingford, Georgetown, Madison Park, Fremont, Queen Anne and Ballard neighborhoods." - History House Website.
Admission is $1 or by donation and special tours can be arranged with a phone call.

Get Out And Kayak - See West Seattle Like You Never Have Before! Sunday, April 13, 2008

This Saturday was the first beautiful day of the year and I took advantage of that by taking a stroll along the Alki's shore. While on my walk I noticed the Alki Kayak Tours. Although it was too late in the day for me to sign up for a trip, this looked like so much fun!!! The tours start at Alki Crab & Fish Co. The tours range from sunset paddles to a day trip out to the West Seattle light house. I am sure that you can find something that will interest you. I know that I will be taking a trip sometime soon!!!

There's a brand-new ballclub in Arkansas, and Paige in 72701 has it covered -- including which nights feature dollar beers at Arvest Ballpark. It's all in the details!

Robert from 97222 posted a nice feature on a sci-fi store in Portland for "the inner (or outer) geek in all of us." He includes info on their online store, which is also helpful.

And Megan from 97202 is chasing down local politicians on the street, then blogging about it. I believe that qualifies as "intrepid." Nice job!
